StarSkate is a program developed by Skate Canada for skaters who have completed the CanSkate program or have equivalent skating skills. The StarSkate program is designed for individuals who wish to further develop their figure skating skills. Key aspects of the StarSkate program include: 1. **Focus on Figure Skating Elements:** The program includes instruction on more advanced figure skating elements such as jumps, spins, footwork, and field movements. 2. **Progressive Levels:** Similar to CanSkate, StarSkate has different levels, and skaters can progress through these levels as they master more advanced skills. 3. **Competitive Opportunities:** StarSkate provides opportunities for skaters to participate in competitions if they choose to pursue a competitive aspect of figure skating. 4. **Certified Coaching:** Skaters in the StarSkate program receive instruction from certified coaches who specialize in figure skating. StarSkate is a pathway for skaters who may choose to continue advancing in figure skating or pursue competitive opportunities within the sport.
Skaters can be moved from CanSkate up to StarSkate during the year as their skills develops.
